The many Advent concerts are another highlight of the Christmas season. The most famous is certainly the original Salzburg Advent Singing in the Großes Festspielhaus. But many other venues and churches also offer atmospheric concerts, such as the Salzburger Advent® in the Church of St. Andrä, the Salzburg Advent Serenades in the Gothic Hall of the Church of St. Blasius, the Advent concerts in the afternoon in the Franciscan monastery or the Advent concerts at Festung Hohensalzburg. Visit the “Hellbrunn Advent Magic” Christmas market and enjoy a cup of Glühwein or punch as you get into the Christmas spirit. Every year, the 24 windows of the palace are transformed into an oversized Advent calendar.
A special highlight for families: Salzburg Zoo is also part of the Advent Market area. After a leisurely day at the Christmas market, relax with a glass of wine at the in-house bar, while your children can let off steam in the 2-story indoor play area of the hotel.
