Innsbruck and its holiday villages in summer
The capital of Tyrol has a very special city flair thanks to its alpine location. In addition to the must-see Golden Roof, there is plenty to explore in Innsbruck’s old town. The Hofburg, which was once the residence of the Habsburgs, is one of the three most important cultural buildings in Austria and houses the imposing tomb of Emperor Maximilian I. The Renaissance Ambras Castle, located just outside the city center, is home to an important collection of works of art, armor and historical artifacts. Around Innsbruck, nature lovers and sports enthusiasts in particular will find a safe haven. In the vacation villages of Igls, Axams, Mutters and Lans, there are numerous hiking trails and cycle paths with breathtaking views and an authentic ambience that invite you to linger. Not far away is the famous Stubai Valley, which is also the largest glacier area in Austria

Climbing in Tyrol
While some people roam the Wipptal mountains on easy to challenging hiking trails, others yearn even more action and adventure. They need vertical rock faces that have to be conquered in a more or less direct line. It’s a good thing that there are a few recommended climbing gardens in the Wipptal where both beginners and experienced climbers will find what they’re looking for.
