The JUFA Hotel Laterns***s is located within the Laterns-Gapfohl ski region. With over 27 kilometers of slopes, two chairlifts and two surface lifts, the skiing area is perfect for families. What’s more, the ski school, the magic carpet and the practice lift at Tipiberg offers everything little beginner skiers need for their first experience on the slopes. Your skis are well taken care of in one of the two ski cellars with ski-boot heating.
Those who prefer to enjoy the winter season off the slopes can go on a ski tour, strap on their snowshoes or delight in nature on a winter hike. There is also a four-kilometer natural toboggan run for fun and excitement. The equipment you need is available at the ski rental Herbert directly at the valley station.
The Laternsertal valley is known far beyond Austria’s borders for its tonewood, a high-quality wood for instrument making.
Since 2021, the JUFA Hotel Laterns***s welcomes you at an altitude of more than 1,000 meters above sea level in the municipality of Laterns in the idyllic Laternsertal – a side valley of the Rhine Valley – in Vorarlberg.
Spend a relaxing vacation in one of over 47 cozy rooms with modern wooden furnishings, an indoor tonewood play world for the kids, the spacious reception area with tonewood café and a wellness area with tonewood sauna.
The JUFA Hotel Laterns***s is located directly next to the Laterns cable cars, which take you directly from the hotel to the Gapfohl Alpe, where you can embark on numerous hikes – from easy to challenging.
Marvel at spectacular rock formations and waterfalls on a hike through the Üble Schlucht, a ravine in the Frutz river valley.
For those who love riding horseback, the Trekkinghof Furx is the place to go. Enjoy the magnificent mountain scenery along the route via Furkajoch (L51 Laternser Strasse) into the Bregenz Forest.
Right next to the hotel, a summer toboggan run, children’s zip line, climbing tower, trampolines and a mini golf course invite you to put your skills and nerve to the test. Sporting equipment such as mountain bikes can be found at the Herbert sporting goods rental right next to the valley station.

Getting here
From Salzburg/Munich/Lindau: Coming on the A14 Rheintalautobahn – take the exit Klaus – at the end of the exit turn right onto Treietstraße – at the roundabout take the third exit (Vorarlberg Str./B190) and follow the B 190 – at the next roundabout take the first exit onto Treietstraße – follow Laternserstraße L51 to Innerlaterns – in Innerlaterns turn left onto Liftstraße, then follow Hofstraße to Kühboden – the JUFA Hotel is on the right-hand side.
Coming from Innsbruck/Vienna/Graz: Coming on the A12 – drive through Arlbergs/Arlbergtunnels – continue on the S 16 and A 14 until exit Feldkirch -Nord/Rankweil – take the exit and at the end of the exit turn right onto Langgasse/Räterstraße until Churer Straße – follow Alemannenstraße and then Laternserstraße L51 until Innerlaterns – in Innerlaterns turn left onto Liftstraße, then follow Hofstraße until Kühboden – the JUFA Hotel is located on the right hand side.
Free parking is available for cars and buses.

Travelling by train
Very good train connections to Rankweil train station. From there with the Landbus 65 in about 30 minutes to the final stop Innerlaterns Schilift. From there it is a 2-minute walk directly to the JUFA Hotel.
