Pilgrimage through Southern Carinthia
Whatever motivation drives people to break out of their everyday routine and comfort zone, pilgrimage is always an adventure in a double sense. The Carinthian pilgrimage network covers around 2,000 km, passes through Bleiburg on two routes, connects important pilgrimage sites and cultural attractions, and also offers the opportunity to discover the culinary diversity of the regions with their Slow Food products.
Camino de Santiago
The Way of St. James offers a connection to the European pilgrimage network to Santiago de Compostela. The total distance of 240 km is divided into ten daily stages and runs from Slovenia through the Drava Valley to East Tyrol.
Hemma Pilgrimage Route
Two routes of the Hemma Pilgrimage Route begin in Slovenia, two in Styria, and there are also four shorter inner Carinthian routes for those who prefer an easier start. This way, there is something suitable for everyone.
