The cool rock of the chalky mountains under your fingers, your legs powerfully tensed, the breath of the creation of the world accompanying you. Climbing is a particularly physically and mentally demanding sport.
In the Ausseerland Salzkammergut, climbing enthusiasts can plan free tours or conquer well-known via ferratas. Different levels of difficulty promise variety and excitement. And the sublime view that touches the soul and restores a sense of connection with the world awaits. Since 2007, adventure-seekers have also been able to climb the world-famous Loser in Altaussee via the challenging “Sisi” via ferrata. This via ferrata commemorates Empress Elisabeth, who regularly spent her summers in the Salzkammergut and is said to have given the mountain her strength. The via ferrata stretches over a length of 400 meters and is very well secured despite its exposed location. In addition to full climbing equipment, strength and fitness are required to tackle this via ferrata, as well as a helmet and via ferrata gloves.
