Family vacation in enchanting eastern Styria

On cold winter days, when a fine blanket of snow covers the gently rolling hills of eastern Styria, the surroundings of our JUFA Hotel Weiz*** appear truly magical. It’s the ideal setting for your active vacation with the whole family. On a winter hike or a romantic stroll in the tranquil city center, you’ll quickly leave everyday life behind you.

Little and big downhill racers just want to ski and whizz along the slopes of the Teichalmlifte or the Holzmeisterlifte in the Almenland Nature Park. Nordic skiing enthusiasts also find what they are looking for: The extensive cross-country ski trails on the Teichalm lead through the idyllic natural scenery over a total distance of 16 km.

After an adventure-packed winter outing, the fun is far from over: Action is on the agenda in the two-story indoor children’s play area, while adults recharge their batteries in the wellness area. With infrared, bio and Finnish sauna, herbal laconium, heated lounge, and the relaxation area on the top floor, including a beautiful outdoor terrace with a view of the basilica on the Weizberg, it is all about relaxation in a 300 m² space.

Business travelers use the three modern seminar rooms of our hotel for conferences and music groups find outstanding conditions in the modern rehearsal rooms with great acoustics.

The JUFA Hotel Weiz*** in “QuartierE” is the perfect choice for your active summer vacation with the whole family. Extensive trails lead directly from the hotel for hiking and biking in the gently rolling countryside of eastern Styria.

Take an excursion along the Styrian Apple Road and savor the culinary delights of the region, for instance, during a visit to the apple village of Puch or to the sheep farmers of Weiz. On hot days, we recommend taking a dip in the cool waters of Weiz’s outdoor pool, located right next to the hotel – hotel guests swim here free of charge.

Directly at the doorstep of Weiz, Almenland Nature Park with Teichalm and Sommeralm invites you to take a hike. Whatever outing you choose, with the e-bike and e-scooter rental as well as an e-car sharing station at the hotel, you’ll always enjoy climate-friendly and independent mobility.

Schweizeben over the Weitental

Schweizeben – one of the most popular hiking destinations for hikers and mountain bikers in Bruck an der Mur. A comfortable ascent on safe hiking trails, a wonderful alpine meadow (a paradise for children, playing football games is possible here!) and a hospitable alpine guesthouse. For the little ones there is a playground and a petting zoo. On the Schweizeben you have a wonderful view of the Mur- and Mürztal as well as of the peaks of the closer and further surroundings.

Raabs Castle

Raabs an der Thaya Castle is one of the oldest stone castles that has ever been built in Austria. The name originates from a German lord from the Middle Ages who was called “Ragoz”. A trip to Raabs Castle is a fantastic opportunity to embark on an adventure back in time with your family and to really delve into the mysteries of the past.

Koglhof Summer Toboggan Run

The summer toboggan run provides fun and thrills for the whole family. You can expect to enjoy 1,050m of tobogganing fun with 8 curved sections and 7 jumps. The toboggan track runs directly through the Motorik Park. The two-seater toboggans are carried 200 metres from the station up the mountainside by a transport cable. You then climb aboard and whizz down the mountainside. The toboggans are equipped with centrifugal force brakes to ensure your safety.
