Allgäu in Summer
The Allgäu stretches across Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg and is a paradise for nature lovers and sports enthusiasts. The Nagelfluhkette mountains and nature park offer numerous hiking and climbing opportunities, while the Forggensee lake near Füssen is an excellent place for water sports. Towns such as Kempten and Oberstdorf are rich in historical and cultural assets. Closely linked to this are the traditions and festivals that are celebrated in the Allgäu. For example, the Oberstdorfer Viehscheid, when the alpine pastures are cleared in autumn and the cows are brought back to the villages with festive decorations, is greatly admired. The Allgäu is also famous for its cheese, which can be tasted and enjoyed in various cheese dairies.
