Let's Trail: How to get started
Everyone gets their money’s worth in this trail running paradise. Whether you’re an experienced trail runner or an enthusiastic beginner, these tips will help you get started in the world of trail running.
What is Trailrunning?
Put simply, trail running refers to running and walking outdoors on mostly uneven terrain. The focus is not on speed, but on immersing yourself in nature. Contrary to what is often assumed, you don’t necessarily have to go into the mountains for trail running. Flat or hilly, along a forest path or on a forest road: trail running can be done virtually anywhere. The only requirement is to run off the paved road. Of course, if you want, you can also venture into alpine terrain and enjoy the beautiful mountain scenery.

Who is trail running suitable for?
For all those who enjoy being active in nature. There are no specific requirements that you need to fulfill for trail running. Do you like hiking? Perfect! Maybe you’d like to tackle the last few meters of altitude on your next mountain tour a little faster. Simply alternate between walking and running pace and adjust your speed depending on the difficulty of the route section. Tip: Use poles to take the strain off your muscles and joints and counteract fatigue. Many runners swear by the use of poles when trail running in order to be more efficient and safer.

What's the best way to start?
The best way is to simply get started. Sounds simple, but it is. Look for a path where the paved road ends and rough terrain over hill and dale begins. At the beginning, it is advisable not to choose too long routes with a lot of elevation gain so that you don’t lose the fun and desire to exercise. In summary, it can be said that trail running is primarily about freedom and variety out in nature on different terrain.
